Minoxidil uptake is about 75% after 4 hours. This means that it takes between 4–6 hours for minoxidil to fully dry. This also means that it is possible and probably optimal to apply minoxidil twice daily to your face or the preferred topical area.

To make the most out of it, I would recommend keeping the topical minoxidil on your face for at least 4 hours, and 6 hours if possible for optimal results.

It’s not an exact science, but keeping the minoxidil on your face for at least an hour is the bare minimum to see decent results. Washing and rinsing off the minoxidil immediately after applying it to your face will lead to virtually no results.

It’s best to apply minoxidil to a damp skin since the product gets absorbed easier this way.

Minoxidil starts working immediately, but the results might take a few weeks to months to become visible to the bare eye.
